Acquired a 'lil mouse in my dash. Need HELP!!!
Yesterday afternoon, I discovered something quite disconcerting. For the first time since owning my 4th gen Max, I have my 1st SQUEAK!!!!
I've read countless threads about many a person having squeaks and rattles and always wondered with +77K miles, why haven't I had any of these problems? It may be due to care? NAAAHH. I think it may be due to the road conditions of where my Max has spent the greater portion of its life...FL, GA, AL and CA. Not many major horrid roads, bumps, potholes, etc.
However, I've gotten the SQUEAK and it drove me crazy!! I found myself beating on the dash. This morning, it was gone. If it returns, how do I get rid of it?
PLEASE HELP?!?

I have squeaks and rattles everywhere in my car. I've tried stuffing cotton, foam insulation, dynamat, etc...in the gaps to hold the dash in place but the sounds are still there. Oh well...I've learned to turn up the stereo and live with it.
It's part of owning a Maxima. This isn't a Camry or Accord.. you will get rattles.

Eric,
I've lined my whole dash with low density foam tape, and my dash is rattle free now, except for time on the very harsh roads.
You really have to be thorough if you want results...
Another explanation is Nissan's inconsistent quality of Maximas, especially the 4th Gens. It seems like there's a lot of disagreement on rattles and things like that.
