Racing Hart CP-035 CP 35 CP35??

Hello all,

I am in the market for new wheels for my Max for the summer. Yesterday, I just got an offer for a set of 17X7 Racing Hart CP-035 (cast version, I think!) offset 40mm for US$ 1000. He also said that he could sell me his set of Dunlop SP 9090 235/45/17 (off the new A4) for US$ 400, unmounted and unbalanced.

I figured that mounting and balancing will cost around US$ 80 or so.

Is this a good price for the set?

Oh yes, one more thing....the colors of the wheels are GOLD.. and I think my Max will be like a Subaru Prodrive wannabe, but he said that the wheels are only 17 lbs (about 40-45lbs with tires and all).

I know that one .org member has this set (Virus/Vyrus?) in white, but I never seen gold wheels with Dark Evergreen Max.

Fire your comments away......

Nobody has Racing Hart CP35 in gold, eh?

.... man...no reply so far. Guess that I have to find this out myself by going to the place and try to see how gold rims look on dark green color....

The CP-035 are forged... I don't think they had any cast... They are probably the lightest rims made (short of Magnesium/race). I think 250 each is pretty cheap if they are real (there should be SSR stamped on the back, I think). 17 X 7 is kinda narrow but you could use 225/50s or stretch them to 235/45. Make sure the bolt pattern is correct 5 X 114.3

They come white or gold... I can't comment on color.

Thanks for your comment.......

...but I just contaced the seller and he said that the rims are cast...not forged. He said," There is no way you could get a set of brand new forged CP35 for US$ 1000"...and he said that the retail price for cast version is around US$ 1600 or so without tires.

I searched the .org and Internet, and it seemed that there are two versions: CP-035 vs CP-35 (or vice versa). One is forged, while the other one is cast.

Mann...these racing harts cp35/cp035 matter is confusing for me....

About the tires, ...don't worry, I have read all post there is about 235/225/215/205 in 17 inches wheels.....

The CP-035 is the forged/spun version, lighter than the CP-35.

That would be correct . I have silver CP-035s (forged) which they stopped making a while ago. Now they only make white and silver . Both of them are very light, the forged wheels being about 6 lbs lighter. For $1000 its not a bad deal for the cast ones (I paid nearly double for the forged ones ), but if its just for the look you could get the Rota or Konig ripoffs for less (I think). They are good wheels but chip easy.

Thanks for your reply....

......close the deal just about an hour back. It's US$ 1100 with tires, Dunlop 235/45/17 and they are CP-35 (cast versions).

The tires are practically brand new, only had 214 miles from Dealers.

Vyrus, you stated that these wheels chip easily, don't they? =)..Well, I will have to live with that.

For that price off the tirerack, I could only get heavier wheels and cheaper tires combo, so I figure that this is a very good deal.

Now, I have to find somewhere in Milwaukee to mount these sets in April to get ready for the summer!

Thanks!
