Anyone here have any idea how to do this? Or can you direct me to a site to help me out? It's a 96 Maxima.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Just replace a broken housing?

just buy a new one from the dealer! If talking about the complete set, you still buy it from the dealer and take out the old one and install the new one.

The Cigarette lighter is shot, and a new one to replace and labour is over 200 bucks! so I just was wondering if there's any specific way that I need to replace it? or even how to...

I went to the junkyard and got the entire panel and cigarette lighter housing together for 10.00.

I bought the cigarette lighter itself from the dealer for 18.00 a few years ago.

Pop the old panel out carefully at the corners (on the bottom front corners where there are hidden clips holding it in place) using a padded screwdriver to keep from scratching the surrounding area.

Pull up on the panel and toward you to clear the panel from the dash and then you can get to the back of it to disconnect the wires on the cigarette lighter housing.

Next, Lift the panel off of the shifter and disconnect the two wires from the old one and connect the two wires to the new one.

If you are replacing the housing onto the existing panel then you have to remove the cigarette lighter housing from the panel and install the new one. I didn't even do this so someone else may add in to the thread and suggest the best way to change it from the plastic panel.

It's really quite simple.

Two hundred dollars? If this is a dealer quote they are out of their mind!

Bill Cook Nissan wanted to charge me close to $100 in labor to install a new blower motor resistor.
