Whats the deal? Im wondering if anyone else is getting any funny hissing noises from under the hood. I can only really hear it from inside the car and around 1500-3000 rpms. I think that the idler pulley has thrown a bearing. Any one have any other ideas as to what could be the problem.

No..its def not the CAI. Its an annoying hissing sounds only around low rpms. AND ITS KILLING ME!!! just thought that i would ask you guys before i run to a nissan dealer and get RAPED $$!

Be sure to slather on plenty of Vasoline before you go.

My intake hisses at low RPMs. Maybe you have already done this, but here's an idea: put the car in neutral and pop the hood. Have a buddy rev up the engine to around 1500 RPM and stick your head under the hood. You should be able to determine at least the general area that the sound is coming from. That should make it much easier to diagnose the source of the sound.

I have some sort of hissing also, but I can't determine where it's from.

hahah... ya i hear ya! The problem with sticking my head under the hood and finding out where it is comming from is that it just blends in with engine noise. I really hear it when i am inside the car and driving.

Does it happen just when you start the car and go within 15-20 minutes?

If so, might be the accessory belts slipping, part of 60k maintenance, might want to examine them for cracks and replace them, or tighten them up if they are fine. Cost is like 15$. No big deal.. My car hisses like that too
