Most Aftermarket lighting SUCKS
I just wanted to post this to see what everybody's reaction to those piant coated "HID - look" bulbs are. I have gone through PIAA superwhites, Eurolites, APC, and Nokya bulbs. PIAA had the best visiblity, but I paid 75 dollars or some ridiculous amount for them and they burn out in like 5-6 months of use. Every bulb I buy burns out quickly and most of them suck for visibility. I do have an APC wiring harness which i brought after 2 of my stock harnesses got fried (i learn things the hard way). Anyway, if anyone has come across a good pair of bulbs that they're satisfied with and last longer than the s#^t i have brought. I'd be nice to know what to look for and what to aviod.

if you want visibility and lasting bulb, the sylvania is a cheap way to satisfy it. iveheard a lot of satisfied people with them- try the silverstars. i have eurolites and i kinda like them even though theyre not the BEST visibility-wise. (20 bucks)

yea, i actually tried sylvania blue's.. they were pretty good but did not have the look i wanted. i currently have eurolites on it and the look is good esp. for the price $20, but they lasted like 4 months. i wonder if the high wattage one's last longer than this.. maybe hiper bulbs, catz or the true high wattage piaa's.. instead of spending 100's of $$$$ to find the right ones thru trial and error, maybe you guys can help me out

My 2 cents
Sorry to hear that man... I've had a pair of PIAA Platinum superwhites (standard 9004 65/45W, not overwattage) in the headlights on Maxine for over 2 years. I got these when the car was about 4 months old (and like you, I paid like $80 for the pair)... haven't had a problem yet.
Now the problem I have had is the fogs: I've tried a pair of PIAA Platinum superwhites in the fogs (again, using the standard H3 55W bulbs)... one burned out in about 3 or 4 months. OK, no problem. My next set of fogs was a couple Hella Yellowstars. Well one of those little f|_|ckers went out in about a month. I yanked both of 'em and put my stock fog bulbs back in there, no problems since. I heard not long after my episode with Hella's that they're complete crap (I only paid like $11 each for 'em, so I tend to believe that)...
Oh well.

Re: My 2 cents
Although initially it is a lot of cash, spending $400 on a Hanabi or other HID kit will end your days of bulb shopping. If you think about it, you spend a lot on bulbs, the upgraded harness... then there is all that time spent looking for bulbs and experiencing the aggravation of burnt ones. Maybe consider the real deal. No bulb will be true to the brightness and color of the real HIDs...
