How are these super white bulbs?

Re: How are these super white bulbs?
You're going to get a lot of negative remarks.
Firstly, it's overwattage so you'll need a harness. Running overwattage let's you put out more light to achieve the 'whiter' color.
Secondly, there are a gazillion new-name brands and there's no way of knowing how good quality they are.
I drove a vehicle with HID over the weekend and I have Silverstars on my Maxima (see homepage, page 2). Pics make it look HID-like - the light is whiter and brighter but it's not HID.
Let's put it this way:
With HID, white lines are white, yellow lines are yellow, green grass is green, roadkill is roadkill color, etc.
With wannabe-HID bulbs, white lines are still yellow, yellow lines are still yellow, green grass is brown/yellow, roadkill is a furcoat.

Your post it true though, that is a good discription of halogen imitations vs. the real xenons. As far as the bulbs I think it's better to stay with a name brand, so in case they burn out the harnesses they're not a pain to contact.

Vyrus, you wanna furcoat?
jag5311, our 4th gen housings were never designed for HID. You can buy HID kits online for around $400 - $500 but you'll have to re-aim your headlights and also expect more stray light. If you don't align them, it'll be in people's face and your HID will end up being the problem to lighting, not the solution.
Some folks on here have HID retrofit kids (re-aligned) but there's been so much negativity that they've basically stepped back and decided to just stop defending HID.
I think it's neat & if I had $500, I'd get a kit and realign the headlights ....
If I had $500
