smc install

was up everyone? wondering if anyone has an installation instructions for smc ss,i installed my shifter but i seems like the throw is not any different from stock and i have this annoying banging sound whenever i shift, WHAT DID I DO WRONGGGGGGG???? OH THE PAIN WE GO THROUGH TO LOOK COOL? I had the instructions but lost it before the installation so i got the instructions from Chestons site(thanks,by the way) oh and another question is with the adjustment the ball would up or down? i assumed it is up so that's what i set it to.

To shorten the throw you move the ball down towards the bottom of the shifter. You may also want to remove the top cat heatshield which is causing your banging noise. I would also use some locktite on the nuts if I were you.

I pretty sure you've got it backwards. The lower the delrin ball goes, the longer the throws, but the less force needed. Similarly, the higher the ball goes up, the shorter the shifts, but the more force required.

Just think of fulcrums, force, action and reaction.
