My Intake Project

I have read all the post bout intakes for the maximas and have came to the conclusion of going with a hybrid setup, now how to setup it up to yield the best performance gain,

I have a 95 SE Auto,

Should I go with the normal upper PR piece or maybe go with the weapon R, injen, or any other upper pieces also the filter, Stillen or Apexi. Also is there anything else I can do to yield more power after I complete this setup?

Thanks.

Re: My Intake Project

It really doesn't matter. All those upper CAI tubes (that replace the intake resonator box) perform the same function. Pick the one for you based on looks and/or price, as those are the only differences.

As far as the filter, the APEXi has a velocity cone built into the filter itself whereas the Stillen has a standard filter but a cone built into the mounting adaptor. Both likely perform similarly...I've seen no vs comparison data but would be surprised if there was any difference. Again, pick the one for you based on looks and/or price.

You can get a used Stillen or JWT for $100, then do what this guy did for $15;

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ICS+AND+intake

With all that done, you've spent $115 and you got POP filter, venturi (or velocity stack), and you've removed the resonator between the MAF and TB.

$115 Hybrid

Do you have any more info on the setup? Also still looking for pics of other upper intake pieces, Weapon R, Injen, Place Racing, etc. etc.
