I went to reset the ECU the other day and the little screw turns all the way to left and all the way to right with no stoppers, then I went to try it today cause the engine light came on again and it still turns all the way to left and all the way to right with no stop ?? I tried to run a code and 0505 came up (nothing wrong) but the light keeps gettin tripped.. probably cause of the screw

same thing happened to me. i was turnin it counter-clockwise for days and it wouldn't stop. i drove to school and the light was blinkin "0505" the whole time. but when I came back after classes it didn't come on.

 

I have reset mine so many times it has worn the grooves off the inside of the screwhead...I don't even know now if it was originally flat head or phillips.

 

If you find out let me know because mine is the same way. I have tried to reset but no stop. I have disconnected battery ovenight but still not sure if it reset or not. I have never had the CEL come on I just wanted to reset.

i dont think its supposed to stop.. mine doesn't. just turn it once counterclockwise, one full revolution, and then one revolution clockwise, or however it says to do it. dont worry about it stopping, it should trip the light anyway.
