what is interchangeable in the bose system??

I have a 97 GLE with a Bose system. I have a DIN alpine cd-player and an alpine screen which flips out of a DIN sized chassis. I wanted to put them both into the double DIN sized opening in the max. I personally think the speakers in the car already bump and sound good enough and all i was gonna add was an amp and subs. I don't wanna have to replace the entire system cuz i know the speakers are self amplified or something. so to make a long story short can i put in the alpine decks and keep my existing Bose speakers.

Bose adpater Commonly called Line output converters or LOCs. I got the PD4 from www.linkmeup.com. But most people consider that too expensive for their budget ($150). You can get other for $50. The reason the PD4 is more expensive is b/c it will pull the cleanest signal. www.linkmeup.com also make a LOC called the PL2, the powerlink II. Do a search on the net for LOCs and you'll find a whole bunch of companies.

I'm using one of the cheaper $50 LOC's that i bought from Crutchfield to use w/my new head unit and it sounds great. improvement over stock. I like my music, but i'm not an audiophile/stereo junkie so the cheaper one works just fine for me.
