SE-L question.

I went to look at a '99 Maxima the other day.
It had the SE-L badge, titanium goodies, and BOSE. It was also a 5-speed, had no ATC, and did not have leather.
Is this really an SE-L package?

I hope this isn't a FAQ!

YES - Saw a very similar car at my dealer as well. No leather and mauual climate control. But SE-L badges with Titanium package was clearly on the car making it an SE-L.

Not all SE-L's came loaded like mine did. Actually I think it's pretty rare to see loaded SE-L's with every option in the book in them.

The rarest of them all being the Chrimson Blaze Red SE-L 5 speed with leather. I think only 250 were made.

Cool.

Though I might pay extra for a fully-loaded SE-L, I will not in this case.

When I bought mine, it came with cloth, manual climate control, sunroof, & automatic trans.

It kind of sucks that the 'limited' badging just represents some visual differences (different colored gauges, wheels, etc...), not actual options like leather, sunroof, climate control, etc...

Red is a very taste-specific color. I personally would not buy a red car (unless it had a dancing horse on it ) but I have seen a couple of red max's that look very nice.

Prancing Horse. Yeah, the only red cars I'll ever like would have Scuderia Ferrari shield or the Prancing Horse on it.

Mine is a Sterling Mist 99 SE-L, leather, moonroof, heated seats, 5-spd, climate control. I really don't know what exactly does the "full out" loaded SE-L has.

Sounds like you have a loaded SE-L and a 5 speed at that. Do you have Traction Control too or perhaps that was only available with the Auto tranny?

Nice car Tifosi !!!

I think red's a great in between color for looks/cleanliness. I've always liked the way 3rd and 4th gen red max's have looked. I would think you'd like/dislike the color regardless of the car, not "red sucks but it's awesome on a ferrari"...that's a bit silly to me.

Ok this is what the window sticker says under "SE Limited Package"
1. SE Limited Floor Mats
2. Titanium-Tinted Gauges
3. 16" Titanium-Tinted Alloy Wheels
4. Titanium-Tinted Exterior Badging

(Seems like they went titanium wild with the SE-L, don't see the big deal with it though.)

And the Fully loaded has these options.
1. SE Security & Convenience Package
2. Delux Seating Package
3. SE Limited Leather Package
4. ABS
5. Bose

Hope this helped.

Mine is a 99 Sherwood Green SE-L, Leather, Auto, Traction Control, Heated seats, Heated mirrors, Bose sounds, Spoiler, Sunroof, Titanium Gauges and Wheels, SE-L floor mats, Automatic climate control, ABS, and Nissan Immobilizer theft system. The only thing the guy told me it DIDNT have was the SE-L embossed on the seats. Other than that he said my car was FULLY LOADED! And to think I got it all for $9,800 bux! With only 77,000 miles on it!

I have this setup. The SE Limited Leather Package has SE embosed on the seats. There also heated and my leather is quite different then any other Maxima I've been in. It's perforated and is very soft and smooth. Some have said the Max leather isn't real leather, I believe the SE Limited Leather Package gives you real leather all around.

The seats are also equipped with side impact air bags, that may be part of the Deluxe seating package too.

I stand CORRECTED, I just went outside and I DO have "SE" on my seats...becuz they are tan, I could hardly see it. Should I color the "SE" on the seats green, or just leave it like it is? I must agree with njmax, the leather is smooth and VERY nice to look at!

my SE-L came strippy. i mean, i was surprised it has front airbags.
no leather, no roof, no digital climate, no abs, no traction control, no side airbags, no power/heated seats, it does however, have all the SE-L BS, manual tranny, mud-guards, and the Bose which has been acting up lately.. i'll wait till it $hit's the bed then i'll go get a new one under warranty for 50 bucks.
i bought it brand new for $18,500 with 7 miles on it.. plus i beat the dealer for a 500 dollar deposit which i never gave him!! but signed for it.. after a month that i had the car, they were calling me for the money.. after the third phone call from them i gave them my attorney's number and told them to call him and to stop harrasing me. never heard from them again.
