My 2k1 vs Corado

Off the start and we had a rolling start I had half a car length on him and when switching to third I got WALKED!!!! I revved each gear to 6000rpm's and did some great shifts but I think he had something done to that car because his exhaust note scared the **** outta me! Anyways, the guy was cool and we gave each other the thumbs up and he yelled " You have an awesome ride"...that made me feel better...I still love this car! Anyone have a run in with one of these VW"s?

Volkswagon Corrado. VW's "sports car" from the late 80s and early 90s.

if I am not mistaking, Corado is almsot as fast as the Max, plus they have a huge aftermarket support. My friend's carrado 5 speed with cams, exhause, intake is about as fast as my max (5 speed). When stock and auto, it's faster then my gf's 97 auto.

Was it a G60 (supercharged 4 cylinder) or SLC (VR6) Corrado? Either way, both post similar performance numbers and both are quicker than most pre-2K2 Maximas. And with mods, they can beat most Maximas.

I've seen a few of the VR6 ones at Etown and most ran mid-low 14s (with mods) but trapped higher than I've seen most VR6 GTIs and Jettas.

Yeah, they're sweet little cars. They made the G60 for about 2 years and then the VR6 the remainder. I think it was like 90-92 and then 93-96?? I was going to buy one awhile back...ended up with a GSR instead. The G60's are a little slower..I think the HP is 140 (I can't remember) but the VR6...well, lets just say we all know about the VR6...mods up the yang.
