windows template for tinting a 2k1 max...

Hi guys, is there any windows template available for a 2k1 maxima ? I want to do my tint, because I dont want to pay 200$ for something I can do for 40$, ( I'm not cheap, modding my max is my hobby ) I always enjoy doing something myself. With a template, tinting windows is a piece of cake, so if none is available I will try make one and if I have any success, I will make one for you my brothers, in case it's available let me know, dont want to re-invent the wheel.

Cheers

AA

I always thought they put an oversized piece of tint on, and then take a razor blade to the edges of the window. I could be wrong tho...

yeh, thats exactly how they do it. i took my car and got it professionaly done. they put the tint over the outside of the window, measure it, then cut it with a razor and put it on the inside of the window.

This is true, but there are some companies making precut pieces for the DYI. Proffesional tinter can usually do better, because they can tuck the tint below the seals so it doesn't leave any lines.

Personally I'd pay to have a pro do it. They have the right tools, and know how, plus most place guarantee their work. Nothing looks worse than a ghetto tint job. I'm not saying you will mess it up, but I think this is just a project that is not that forgiving if you mess up.

the gyu who tinted my car took all the door panels off & did it so they can go lower on the windows, it took him 2 hr to do the whole car with simple tools like razor blade, slicon blade, water etc...

I hate paying for stuff I can do myself. But tinting is the hardest, most tedious thing I have ever done. Well worth the $150 IMO....

It took them three hours to do my car, I can only imagine what it would take the average newbie. Personally, I dont have a good air conditioned and dust free environment to seriously consider doing it myself. This is one of those jobs that takes a long time to do right, and your not likely to do it right the first time. My max was tinted with Solargard's finest for $180. It is worth it.
