Balance between good handling and good ride...does it exist?

I have a 2002 SE which I'm very pleased with. However, my two biggest complaints about the car is the suspension and sound system. I've always known Bose to suck, but I never had a sports supension that only imitates a sports supension.
Now I've read many post that will allow me to solve my sound system troubles, and I've read many post that discuss improving your suspension. Most post around supension deal with lowering the car and improving the overall handling. While I'm all for better handling, I'm looking for a nice balance between handling and ride. BTW, I'm moving up to 18" Sumitomo HTR+ and Evo5 Sports. Thanks

You had to have known about the suspension before you got the car so why complain. Most of us like the Bose for a stock system,go figure!

Kinda depends on how much you're willing to spend. I completely agree with you about the suspension. I have a 2001 GXE, so I'm sure you're in a better starting position that I am. Here's what I'm planning on doing based on my research here: Courtesy FSTB, Maxspeed or H&R springs (depends on how much $ I have when I actually buy them), Tokico shocks, possibly RSB. That should add quite a bit more body control, which I hope will get rid of the floaty feel over larger bumps. I'm willing to compromise a bit of ride quality for a more solid feel, but I commute in this car -- so I don't want a punishing ride. This is, after all, a family sedan and shouldn't ride like a Vette ... IMHO.

everyone has different definition about "good ride".....for instance, some people saying that certain brands of springs are breaking their back....but some people might have difference opinion. it is just differed by each one's tolerance.

good handling wise......depends on what ur need...from FSTB to sbu-frame connectors...plenty of options.

hehe ... yeah, I agree, but who wants to deal with the ugly, boring, monochromatic interior? Not that I wouldn't buy one if I could afford it!
