Seek opinions on Berktuning intake @59.95
What are your opinions? I have had some experience with the K&N air filter.
There are two potential problems: (1) loss of low-end torque -> bad for offline acceleration; (2) the K&N is not as efficient as OEM for filtering out fine particles -> bad for engine longevity.
What about the K&N drop-in OEM replacement filter @29.95?
Thanks, Yuan

I truely do not feel a loss in low-end, but have not had the time to swap my current set-up back to the OEM set-up to compare. One thing I did notice is that, in hot weather you can defineatly feel a power loss with the HAI.
I haven't keep the same vehicle over 3-4 years, so the longevity is not much of an issue for me.
I originally started with the Berk intake and for $59.95 it is a deal. I would recommend it. Great growl at WOT and you may feel a little overall power increase.
Enjoy.

I have got a 2001 5-speed GXE Maxima. The low end is quite sufficient with the OEM 15" wheel/tire combo. I am usually afraid of high rpm starts due to wheel spin. However, I am thinking of upgrading the wheel/tires. That's where the low end comes in.
