SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator on 2k2 SE

Does anybody have their "service engine soon" light come on very faintly?
In test mode (when i turn my key to 'on' position), it comes on solid. But when I start driving, it remains on very faintly.
Do I have to take the car to the dealer and have it checked out?
Or is it normal?

Thanks in advance.

OH! I have a 2k2 SE auto (just bought it a couple of weeks ago and have less than 1000 miles on it)

I too have this problem.. I have a 2k2. I am all set with having the dealer change out the I/P.... Not to mention that the dealer will document this and it could bite you later.. Meaning your mileage starts at 0 again.. If you try to resell and some does like a carfax or something on it, they may think something is fishy... It doesent bother me, so I dont care about having it done... As long as I dont trip any codes, I dont care. I did notice one thing start your car, you will see the very dim light. then turn your headlights on and watch the light. You will see it go away for a couple seconds then come back dim.. Weird...

Actually, I was just pointing out how useless your post was. Give me a break. A person comes on here and says that they having a problem and you say "My car doesnt do that but its weird". Your a real problem solver jacka$$. And you have good comebacks.

Did a search of the forum on this subject. It appears the instrument panel must be replaced. I have a 2k3 SE and mine started doing this after 600 miles and am bringing it in Monday for replacement. Nissan America is aware of the problem and the post I read said to have your Dealer log on to the Nissan tech line to and they will tell them to replace the IP.
