Have you checked on the Transverse Link Axle recall?

I have the same problem...but I supposedly have already have had the recall performed. The reason that I say "supposedly" is because I had the recall performed as soon as it was mentioned on the site here, but last week I received a notice from Nissan regarding the need to have the recall performed. I am contemplating taking it to a different dealership for the recall and see what they say. My next question is...say I go and the recall was not performed, but I have my receipt from the other dealership saying it was done. Do I have any grounds for a lawsuit here? I would think so, because say I didn't get it double-checked and something had actually happened, and I was killed in the accident, then the dealership would really be up $hit creek. What do you guys think? The noise keeps getting louder and louder.

legally, you'd have to get hurt, and have actual damages (a concrete dollar figure) in order to have standing to sue. punitive damages can only be awarded if there are actual damages. now, if you can prove that not having the transverse link recall done damaged another part of your car, that would constitute as actual damages.

noise

I have an 02 and have not experienced the noise as you describe. I can think of several items in the back that could cause your sound. Stuff in the trunk (is the spare tightened down, the flimsy jack stand, etc.). I haven't verified this but many muffler systems use a rubber connector to hold the muffler to the bottom of the car and I've seen several cars where its hanging off. I checked your profile and you don't list any mods so the common Addco RSB issue probably doesn't apply.

Of course this doesn't mean that you don't have something more serious. The tranverse recall really applies the front and is pretty obvious when you get down under the car (you can see the parts that they replaced). So that doesn't sound likely. You don't mention it so I'm going to ask, have you looked under the back end to see if there is something not quite right?
