Track Test with CAI Lower Tube Removed!
#1
Well, I was greeted with a terrible surprise at the track tonight. I recently removed my lower tube for the CAI, thus making the intake an underhood style. I thought this made no difference. I was wrong!
Tonight at the track the best I could muster was a 14.95@93.1 mph! This is with my best ever 2.20 60 foot on the stock 17's. My previous best was 14.75@94.6 with the CAI lower tube in place! After examining the slips, I found I went from a 9.53 1/8 mile to a 9.8! The second 1/8 mile is similar to before with the lower tube in place. It appears as though the lower tube helps the low speed acceleration greatly. I will be switching back!
Temps/humidities were almost identical for the differing track days, both right about 72 F.
I guess Ill insert foot in pie hole now.......
