Anyone with tint more than 2 years old and living in the South...
was wondering which tint you may have that has been very good in resisting fading. Preferably a non-mirror type tint.
Thanks gang.
And yes SEARCH has been used but all I could find was about new tint choices, etc. not long term performance.
Thanks gang.

John, any metallic based tint will last a good 3 years w/o any problems. After that, depending on the type, it will either look less dark or will continue to have the same tint for years to come.
If it's dye-based normally after a couple of years it starts turning purple.
Don't mistake Metallic based tint with Mirror tints however, they're not the same.
I had Solar Gard w/ lifetime guarantee on my Civic, even after 2 years it looks brand new. I have a similar type metallic tint (3 year guarantee) on my Max from Formula One but i've only had it for a year.

As for the F1, yep on Westheimer. I got mine for $180 installed, 35/30/20% IIRC. They also have a higher quality tint similar to the Solar w/ a lifetime guarantee but they quoted me a little over $300 for it.

With Solar Guard it was installed by a shop along I10, couple blocks down from Honda.

Btw, if you wanna see how the tint looks on my max click here.
If you want to see it in person maybe we can meet up sometime.
