Hey guys, I don't know if this has happened to u SC max owners or not BUT my car seems to hesitate sometimes when I start off slow and accelerate slow. As I push down on the gas pedal softly, the car hesitates as if there is no fuel going in...sort of like a fuel cut. Has this happened to any of u guys? When I WOT, it works fine, but if I push softly, it sometimes hesitates. I'm trying to figure out what it could be. If any one can help me out, it'll be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

ps. would adding 3-4 gallons of 100 octane be better for my SC Max when I fill up with 91?

 

Looks into doing the "Hobbs Switch" mod. Search for Loren00Miata. This mod leaves the fuel pump on all the time so you won't get lag.

 

Will I be drinking up more fuel though? BTW, how is your gas mileage? I finally got my SC max running again and I got lie 315 miles in the city. I think I can get like 450 miles if it was in the highway. what do u think?


ps. Do you have a diffrential? IF u do, which one and how much did it cost?

 

350? I come nowhere close to that. I usually get about 300 from mostly highway driving. The extra gas used won't be noticeable.

Yup, I have the viscous differential. It's in the AE tranny.
