I've thought about trading in my SI for a new max. Just had a few questions for everyone.....

I would be after a SE 5-speed model.

What kind of real-world gas mileage do you guys get?

Any complaints on the feel of the 5-speed?

Any way to get the VLSD from the factory other than on the Anniversary edition?

Best info I can find shows that a SE with sunroof, leather and bose package will run around $25,750, is this an accurate number?

Please list any mods with track times.

Thanks

Got my 2001SE 5spd in mid November.

Gas mileage averages about 19-20 in the city and about 24-25 on the highway. Don't know how good that is as I haven't had a chance to compare it to summer mileage which is usually better.

As for the 5spd itself - only complaints so far are that when starting up in the morning the thing is real notchy and doesn't want to shift (it's real cold here) but once it's warm it's fine. Also, first gear is a little lurchy, probably that "fuel-cut" issue so many have been talking about. But outside of that it rocks.

That price looks about right - check http://www.edmunds.com if you haven't already - you can get exact pricing for all options you want.

Hope this helps
