scary experience 20mins ago
Well, I was coming back to my apartment from Blockbuster Videos. I was at a light and a previous Gen black Altima(95~99) with HID simulate light bulbs, and bazooka style exhaust came up next to me and ravved a little.I thought I can have some fun. As the light turned Green I eased off the clutch at 2000RPM (Moderate acceleration) but he floored it. Then I shift to 2nd at 4kRPM then I floor it. and shift at every 4.5RPM. Beat it nicely till 70MPH (it was a 55MPH zone) then I shut down(About 3 car length. He then flew past me and wouldn't even look at me as I try to wave at him for the nice race(And being part of the Nissan family
)
So here is the scary part. I want to catch up to him. I am currently in 3rd gear at about 4kRPM, I floor it then I missed the shift into 4th Gear but instead I went into 2nd. and engine RAVV...so High I almost $hit in my pants thinking I am gonna break my car or something. (Think I fried my clutch a little too) If I remember correct, I hit the 6700RPM mark and got to fuel cut off(Which I hope). Then I went back to 4th gear and drove normally the whole way home. I was like saying "HOly $hit, how the hell can I miss shifted, so stupid!".
However, the car drives fine. I think the notchy shift disappeared after the Transmission got "Warmed" up a bit on the way back....so that was nice
Just wanna share that experience with you guys, and any opinion is welcome. I hope I won't break my clutch or transmission. I mean if it does I always have my 5 year extended warrenty to back me up.
