Search for this stuff.

http://forums.maxima.org/search.php

But in my opinion, I would get the Frankencar (WAI) or the Place Racing (CAI).

For exhaust, I would get a custom made 2 1/2" catback with the stock muffler. Unless you could care less about noise or $$$....then get the Greddy.

Why does Firm Fabrications not carry an intake for the 2000-2001?? That looks like it would be better than the Frankencar because of the integrated MAF. And ive always been wondering about the Injen intake...whats the deal with that?...seems like no one likes it? but yet its one of the highest, if not the highest priced intakes out there. What makes it so bad that hardly anyone wants one??

Franken Car Intake with HKS rear section and custom-b pipe with resonator is the way to go IMHO

Please research your information before you give out anymore advise on this board..... INJEN IS NOT A CAI.

Could it be considered a ALCTWAIYHTCAI? (A Little Colder Than Warm Air Intake Yet Hotter Than Cold Air Intake?)

I have the PR CAI, slightly more expensive than the Injen but for good reason. However, the PR CAI requires a little cutting whereas the Injen doesn't. Although the PR CAI has less turns in the piping than the Injen and grabs the air from the side and outside the engine bay whereas the Injen grabs the air from inside the engine bay near the bottom). I don't think anyone has done a true comparison of the two yet...unless someone can point us (me) to one as I'd like to see it myself.

You could call it that if it makes you feel better but ultimately I don't believe the Injen for our Max's are true c.a.i., you want cold air get the Place Racing its as simple as that but in the end when its all said and done an intake is an intake is an intake yada yada. We will see how these Injen intakes pan out once the people from the group deal start taking their car to the track and dyno for some numbers.

No worries.

We all make mistakes.

Carry on with your quest for intake knowledge.

I was replying so I could call YOU the ********. And it IS my business because you are polluting this forum with your outright ignorance.

The Injen is a CAI. Whether or not the design of it is 100% efficient is another story. But don't flame that guy who DID do his homework because you devised some theory in your head that says that the Injen is not a true CAI.

You are the only ******** that I see in this thread.

Join date doesn't mean ****. Status: Maxima Fanatic vs Needs non-maxima friends. Not that these mean anything either, but obviously someone has posted a lot more than the other. Where's the attitude coming from? The Injen is advertised as a CAI, so Serin called it that. Independent research can prove it's not a true CAI, but as far as labeling is concerned, it is a CAI. And what's with the name calling? Were you still a member of honduh.org when you joined way back in 2000? I guess you finally graduated high school and got a Maxima. Looks like you think we're at clubsi.com.

That's your opinion, not a fact. It has a downpipe, therefore it can be considered a CAI.

Tanman's "donating member" status does mean $hit, because it allows fools like you to join, do research, and make usless posts for FREE.

Wow you're clever. You're also completely missing the point. He called it a CAI, because that's what it is claimed to be. Sorry he didn't have the time to include an essay with disclaimers on why it shouldn't be called a CAI. Maybe everyone should add footnotes to all of their posts to satisfy idiots like you. It's like someone saying, "man the water's so blue and clear here", you'd probably jump all over that with "you moron, the water isn't blue, it's the atmosphere reflecting off the water, you stupid pos". Like WTF??

that's good to hear. are you planning on having a polished finish available?
and what's your projected release date? if it's anytime soon, i might be one of your first buyers since i know you offer a choice of filters.

hopefully within 6-8 weeks. i'm gettnig my pricing this week, supposed to get it today but didn't, and then i'll go from there, they will be available in polished also, with better couplers and hose clamps and less money then "other" ones.
