Those who hard-wired V1

I have mine currently routed around and plugged into the cig lighter. Where do you guys tap into power? Also where do you usually find a ground? All the screws around the fuse box are tight! I can't loosen any of them.

I was going to tap the sunroof power wire but weird things happened when I drew current from it. So I decided to take the long cord and run it across the top of the windshield, down the side, under the dash and tap the cig lighter. It works great for me and the install looks very clean with the V1 mounted just to the left of the rear view mirror.
