Trunk lid carpeting

Question for you, I've seen some maxs with the formed carpet piece that goes on the trunk lid, but mine doesn't have one. Are they avail for 5gs and mine just sucks or do they not have them at all?

Mine has it. It could have been part of the floor mats option. Not sure.

You can buy it seperatly. I did. I think it cost me like 60 bucks. I could be wrong on the price. I don't remember exactly. Comes with clips and all.

If you are talking about the real carpet with

the embroidered Maxima logo and not the 'mouse hair' fuzzy thing, that's very new and only started shipping in some '03's. I've an 01 with the Meridian package and my car did NOT come with that; I got it from Jerry Rome Nissan..like 55 bucks or so. It's a nice piece

Nice! Thanks guys, I thought I was just insane. I just need that trunk lid piece, the rest is all good. Just looks poor with all the aluminum matting all over it.

One would think in 2000, these things would become standard. Do you believe Honda still sells that DX model in their 2003 Accords. The crap still has roll up windows, WTF?

There are two things going on here...

1. Nissan was/is not if the best financial shape and cost cutting, especially the little stuff, reared its ugly head.

2. As for the Honda's...there is still a market demand for what has been perceived to be an extremely reliable vehicle, even in stripped down form.

I just love hearing "perceived to be" in a sentence regarding a Honda. That's their secret!

Yes it became standard on the 02's and the 03's have the carpeted trunk mat with the Maxima name across which is nice. Nissan has done some weird things in the past In the 85-86 it was standard in the 89-94 it was as well. In 95 it only came if you got certain options and this lasted until 2001, for what you pay for them it should be standard. Some 03 accords dont have it as well and it was an EX
