trip button on steering wheel not working after custom stereo install
trip button on steering wheel not working after custom stereo install
I have a 2002 SE w/o Bose system. I recently installed an aftermarket stereo using Crutchfield installation kit. The trip button on the left side of the steering wheel that that scrolls through mpg/average speed/dte...etc. is not working anymore. The display just shows the temperature. Does anyone know how to correct this?

When you removed the Bose stereo there was a connector with 4 or 5 wires that you are not using now. Take the brown wire with a white stripe and ground it. Don't cut it from the harness, just get a 3M wire tap so you can return it to stock if / when you sell the car. Find a ground point on bear metal in the dash behind the radio.
Oh, this can be found in a search

(had to add that for the impending flame throwers)
