Another way to make the car seem darker (at least it's legal here from what I understand) is do 35% all around, except also put a 50% film on the front window. That way your tint is completely legal but seems darker. I have had 3 cars previously tinted. In my experience 35% all around is way too transparent. 20% may be a little dark. I think the 20% rear and 35% front works well. I had this done in a white Max and it looked good. Anyhow, I still haven't decided what I'm gonna do yet. I have until tomorrow morning
have you considered what i mentioned.....20% all around and 15% rear sheet. it WILL look different if you go 20 all around because looking through it, you are looking onto the front windshield, which is not dark. on the other windows, they will look darker becasuse the backdrop is a dark window as well.

I will consider this as well. I go through this every time I have a car tinted. The last time I got 35% all around I promised myself I would not go that again, but I'm still considering doing it. Go figure. We'll see.

The company's called "Sunshade Window Tinting Company". I have no clue if it's a franchise or a local shop.

30% black tint is best, all around, not too dark, nor too light. Perfect all around, cost me $180.

I have 15% all around but will be changing to 5% all around. My friend has a 99 Camry and SHE has DOUBLE 5% ALL AROUND!!!! At night you can't see shirt out the windows. It's pitch black!

I have 5% in the back and 15% in the front. I have been pulled over and the cop didn't say anything about my tint and named everything else on my car that looked 'semi-illegal' including my hyperwhite lights for side markers, license plate cover, radar detector, loud music, etc. The limo in the back is easy to see out at night as long as there are street lights. I can see cars still and everything. The only thing is, if there is no lights like in someone's driveway or a parking lot, it is damn near impossible. I have already backed into my friend's Mercedes ML320 who parked in my driveway because I couldn't see out. Other than that, I have no regrets with my dark tint. I'm actually considering tinting my front windshield just a bit, because I don't like people being able to see in my front windows at the driver and passenger.

I have 20% all around. One of my friends got a ticket for my tint while he was driving my car (I was a passenger)anyways. With a black on black A.E Maxima I would go 35% all around or 35% on the side windows and 20% in the back window.

I got 50% in the front and 35% rear. In direct sunlight it's not dark but it still looks pretty good. Also, it passes inspection, cops don't notice it, and I'm never gonna have to ever peel it all off.
I have the same setup. As someone mentioned in a post, 50% is the legal limit in Ohio. I was thinking about getting 35% all around, but this kid at school had that done to his Grand Am and he's been ticketed 2 times for tint.

I had mine done at Ziebart. They do a great job.

Why would putting tint on tint be illegal? It does by the percentage of light that can show through, not the amount of layers of tint.

I have 30% and its wonderful. I have no trouble during the day seeing out, you can slightly see through if thers an overcast, if there is direct sunlight, you can see through. At night, you can not see in unless theres very bright street lights through the front window. I can see fine out at night even in dark area's.

I just got pulled over the other day while going to school at 8 in the morning in Atlanta, GA heading to Kennesaw State University. The cop said your tint reads at 17% and I was laughing. I knew I had done nothing wrong and no warrants out for me because I had just paid a speeding ticket. I am just going to get somebody professional to take it off(probably the guy that did it) on the 4 doors leaving the 2 little rear windows and rear at 20% or 17% to be exact. I will just get 35% which will make them at 32% which is the legal in state of GA. Should I fight this ticket? after of course I get the tint redone???

On my Accord I had (get this) 5% all around, a 20% ON TOP of the 5% in the back windows AND a 50% completely *clears throat* COMPLETELY down my windshield (God I love South Texas) and there was no way in heaven or hell you could see ANYTHING into the car. I got used to it at night and it is possible to see outta 5% windows

Now, on my Max I only have 20% all around which is really nice, not to light, not too dark, just right.

All in all, it's up to personal choice when it comes to tint and rims. G'luck and have fun!

20% all the way around in South Texas. It gets hot as hell here in South Texas so the cops pretty much leave us alone with dark tint. This percentage looks so sweet.

Well... I got my tint done on friday. I got 20% all around. Didn't expect it to be so dark. Hopefully I won't get pulled over for it.

In Michigan, it is illegal to tint the from door windows with ANY tint. When I lived in Detroit, I had a 97 Max SE black/Black and had 50% on the fronts and I was never messed with. Just my 2-cents.

Ditto!

I went with 20% the first time and I hated it. You could see in the car and with my frost interrior it was even worse. I scrapped it and went with a 5% and could not be happier. Sometimes it's hard to see out at night on a dark street, but most of my driving is done looking out the windsheild.

If anything, I would not go higher than 15% as it looks like $hit in my opinion...almost just like the windows are dirty.

I am with you here as well. I have 5% all the way around on my black on black SE and it looks sick. Every time you go less on tint you want more and end up spending more $$$. Go darker and don't split upt the tint like 50% up front and 20% in the rear, that's a stock SUV look to me and I just don't like it...but's that's just an opinion.
