2002+ Bose CD Player Cutouts Have Been Resolved
Since it applies to 5th gens, I'm posting it here too, but the thread is over in the audio forum (since that's where it belongs).

Thanks for the post and great timing. Mine is going in tommorrow for this. Also, what is your clutch doing? They replaced mine last month and the clutch pedal seems very stiff. I plan on having them look at it, but I don't know if this is normal.

My pedal seems to stiffen up at times and then it goes away and the clutch seems smooth and easy to press. Very strange. I didn't have clutch work done yet.

The clutch has a bad bearing in it (or so they say) that causes it to make a "soft, peeling-out sound" similar to a whine. It happens normally in first gear and reverse, but can happen in other gears. It's much worse when it's cold outside. They called today to tell me that the bearing came in, so I'll drop off the car tomorrow or sometime this weekend. But first, I've got to remove the CAI and revert to stock. I'm gonna dyno my car while it's still stock to get the accurate measures of the gains of the CAI. I'll post them in a new thread in the 5th gen forum when I have them.
