De-badging
Has anyone de-badged their Max by themselves? I want to take the big ugly dealership badge off. I checked the How-to section on it but the links are dead. It said that all you need is WD-40 and fishing line. I guess you put the WD-40 on...let it sit, then pull the fishing line behind the badge? WD-40 doesn't damage the paint?
(Sorry if this is a repeat post. If only I could search...)

yeah don't use WD-40. I thought the same about it hurting the paint so I didn't use it. I just used a hair dryer to heat it up and then ran the fishing line behind the badge. Worked fine and I didn't take any chances with the WD.

So goo gone won't damage the clear coat? I have been to afraid to try it, so hat is good to know.

I did my debadging on a 90+ F (32+C for you Canucks) day. I use fishing line and 'Bug and Tar Remover". The dealer badge was easy to remove. The others required a little more work. The "Bug and Tar Remover" did a wonderful job of removing the glue residue!

Yeah the carmax sticker is exactly like what my dealership used. Those ba$tards used all individual letters that didn't connect. I just used my fingernail and peeled back a little corner of each letter then peeled them off. Didn't even leave glue residue
