I would try a different dealer. Others have had their cars done... How many miles are on the car?

ride with them and show them. Call ahead and tell them you'll be there in "xx minutes" and you "expect a TEC to ride along for a few minutes so you can show him the problem."

they'll probably just do the TSB, but if not, take the few minutes to have the guy ride along.

pulling the lawyer card so soon is the wrong approach. Would you trust someone with your car if the only way they'd take it is if you threatened to sue?

thanks for the advise

yea, threating to sue is prolly an option, but not right away, maybe after repeated times and they refuse to do the service.

Hi Matthel: which dealer did you try? I know Steven's Creek Nissan has pretty good service. If you dont mind to come down to San Jose, hope this will help. The rep that I talked to last time there was Fred.

I would definitely try other dealerships first. It's important to remember the TSB is not a recall, just a method to fix known problem. Now if you were under your 3yr/36 warranty they would fix it with no questions. I guess you could always ask about a "good faith" repair since you're probably not that far out of your 3yr/36. The other option is to call Nissan corporate.

it might be easier just to find another dealer close by that will do that work instead of trying to convince the current one to do it even if you've taken them for a ride and such already.

well, that what i did anyways. good luck

It's 3 yrs OR 36K whichever comes first. It also doesn't matter when they bought it. It's 3 yrs from when it was made.

Are you 100% sure of this? That would be the first time I heard that. That makes absolutly no sense whatsoever. It could take months and months, from the time a car is made, to the time it is sold.

uhm, i dont think so, it should be 3 years from date of purchase. build dates are sometimes months before purchase. so if the max was made May 99, and they purchased the max in Dec of 00. They get 1 1/2 year waranty?? that doesnt make sense

Absolutely incorrect. It's 3 years from the first comsumer purchase date.

I took my slipping tranny to two huge dealers who denied knowing anything about the TSB or other maxes having trouble. I went back repeatedly for over a year and made repeated calls to NNA.. nothing..

finally I called a small dealer 30-40 mins away. Not only did they know of it, they stocked the parts because the problem is so common.. They scheduled me in at 10am (I called at 9am), and drove away at noon with the new TCM/solenoids.

Turns out the big dealers just didnt have a trained tranny tech, so they pretended not to know anything.. nice huh?

tranny and window problem

I had to go to three dealers before I could get the tranny problem addressed.

The window noise is tough because people hear things so differently. I finally begged the guy to go get some tape (or bring it yourself) like they suggest in the TSB and then drive the car - it is so obviously better with the tape they cannot believe it - they finally did the rear window repair - or do it yourself - it is like $.50 of adhesive foam.

Yeah, gotta be careful w/ dealers they su**! I had a problem with wheel vibrations at high speeds, just after I had the transverse links replaced. Anyway it was actually a pot hole that caused the vib. That dealer sent me on a wild goose chase. Spent 200.00 bucks, and talked to me like I was a grandma telling me it was torque steer(idiot), this is the service manager now. Finally brought the car to a different dealer they did a radial balance found a problem then told me to go to a certain tire shop they knew. They fixed the problem. All in a matter of 2 days.

I am planning on calling in for the AT slippage too but i don't know how to show them the slippage. I have search the org and one suggested to step on the gas pedal hard from a stand still and the rpm should jump very high before shifting. can someone give more detail. Thank You
