I just came back for my mechanic and the codes from OBD II are: P1320 and P0302 I know the 0302 means misfire in cyl#2, I will replace that coil, but what does it mean P1320?? I have looked everywhere and can't find it.
Can someone tell me about this code?
Thanks

there's a sticky w/ all the SES codes listed..
Edit: looked it up for you b/c i'm nice or somethin..

P1320 - Ignition Signal

You'll have to do a search on it, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it is a pretty crappy one to get for the VQ30 guys like yourself.. good luck

I actually threw the P0302 code about 4 weeks ago. So i switched coil #2 with coil #3, just to be sure it was the coil that was bad. I cleared the code and it was okay untill two days ago when my SES light came on. Then yesterday the TCS and SLIP lights came on like many have said. I unplugged the negative terminal from the battery and those lights went away but I still have the SES light. I had the code read and it's now the P1320. So...... I'm going to go ahead and replace the coil that it was before and hold my breath, if that doesn't work, i'm going to replace them all cause they're bound to go bad sooner rather than later.

My 2000 Maxima is completely dead for the 2nd time in 6 months, I only get a click when I try to start it. I recently replaced the ignition coils which helped the shaking that was occurring. I am assuming I need to replace the starter, does anyone have recommendations on where to buy a new starter?

Thanks PlanoSer for looking the code up for me I could not find it, well I guess I'll joint the club and buy an ignition coil and do it my self ( I know would be better to replace the 6 of them, but I can't affort now, so has to be only one) luckly is the number 2, easier to change than the back ones !!
By the way thanks to all, for the support and also the good "how to.." is the only way I'd attemp this on my own.
I'll keep you guys posted with the results. Now I have to wait until tuesday to get the coil, Monday is civic holiday in Canada and the stealership is closed, I want to go with Nissan ( the ones with the gey dot

Well I got it done, went and bought the Nissan ignition coil (CA$113 with tax) I just replaced the Cyl #2, could not affort more than one, replaced the one that the OBD II told me to, and great change. I hope the rest of them last a bit longer, that way I can change the other 5 next time. Easy labor took me about 10 Mins, thanks to all the info that I got from all you guys!!
Thanks a lot.

I need help guys. I was getting a P0300 code so i replaced all 6 ignition coils and spark plugs (NGK R laser platinums) I reset the ECU & drove the car. It drove GREAT, very strong and smooth. I then turned the car off and when I drove it again, the SES light came back on, felt hesitations, etc. I pulled the code and it's the P0300 again. What else could be causing this; any ideas? I just spent a good wad of cash hoping to fix the problem and it's still there...

Thanks

P0430 after coil and plug installation...

Hey folks...I replaced my coils and plugs on Monday. My SEL was on before I changed them. After I changed them the car ran fine ('00 Max SE - Ca. emissions). The other day my SEL came back on and I pulled a P0430 from AutoZone. I think it's either the o2 sensor or the cat. How do I know for sure? Should I drive the car for a couple days to see if the SEL goes off? Do I get AutoZone to reset my ECU? Any suggestions on where to purchase my sensor if that's the problem? Bank 2 was on the AutoZone printout as well. I don't want to drive it very long if I could mess up the cat, cylinder, etc. if I already haven't done so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm just getting tired of it nickel and diming me to death. Thanks in advance...

I personally don't have this problem (atleast I don't think as of yet) since I drive 2k2 but at my job the engineer director (my boss) has 2k and he had this issue...

Everyone I've ever met who has this gen Max has had a coil problem. It's a shame, too, because they've likely lost some loyal customer's by refusing a recall on the issue. My new Murano, on the other hand, has had 3 recalls already.

Had to replace my coils at ~50,000, had number 6 cylinder going bad. Replaced all six and now at 81,000 having one going bad again. I think Nissan needs to step up and fix the prob with all us owners.

Mine were replace under extended warranty at around 90,000. Has anyone tried the Borg Warner ones that's available at most auto parts stores? IE Pep Boys? They might or might not be the OEM manufacturer for Nissan.

I recently found out that all 6 ignition coils on my 1999 Maxima needed to be replaced (or my car won't pass inspection... because they won't pass a car with its service engine soon light on). The estimate that I received for this was $1500. Is it just me...or is that REALLY, REALLY ridiculously high? The mechanic gave me a print out of what he came up with after speaking to someone at my local Nissan dealership. I would try to replace them myself, but I know nothing about cars and would more than likely mess something up. Any suggestions?

I had to replace all 6 at 46K miles. The engine vibrated (usually smoothe as silk) and heavy fumes in the exhaust. Paid the shop to do it, but after reading this, will do it myself if needed again.

long tall ones in the back. The ones that have a horizontal piece at the top in the front. All you have to do is put one in front and you will be able to tell which fits.
