I did the AimSoil. It is still pretty notchy. I don't think anything will make this car shift like a German car.

Darn, I was seriously considering the synthetic "upgrade", but you guys might have just lost iwannabmw some business...

The TSB you are referring to lists the particular part number for the gear oil. I believe the part number can be referenced here (admittedly it is not the entire TSB):

I know your stance on synthetic gear lubes, but as I said before, the life of your transmissions are also directly affected by the your driving style. Those can't be easy shifts to get those kind of trap speeds. I would be more interested in feedback about transmission/synchro life from people who drive normally. That would be more of an apples to apples comparison.

Seriously though, I get way more positive feedback from people than I hear complaints. Considering most people are likely to take the time to complain than to give positive feedback, that says something to me.

If that's the case, so be it. I don't pressure people into using the products and I try to provide all the information I can so they can make a more informed decision on which route they want to go. I'm even nice to people who insist on using Redline

I do agree that this is the first I personally hear negative feedback re: sythetics for the MTs. OTOH, there was some guy claiming his clutch pedal felt smoother after adding Redline.
So much for feedback...I also did notice that even the 2k1 5 speeds are included in the TSB, but not the 2ks. I wonder why???
