What is the ohm load on the speakers on 02 maximas with bose?

anyone know or know where i can find that info? I want an aftermarket cd player but i dont know how the rated power of 50wx4 on typical cdplayers would work out on bose speakers.

I thought when dealing with bose it's best to replace everything.I know in my 2k mazda 626 I had the speakers had their own amp, thus you couldn't add a head unit with internal amp to it. You may want to verify to see if the maximas are the same way.My suggestion is replace everything if you have the cash. Bose sucks for car stereo.

Well, I could bypass the bose amp and just connect to the preamp speaker wires. the only thing is the ohm load. I am not sure if the speakers will match the aftermarket HU's ohm.

thats a good way to toast your HU.
The speakers are 1 ohm and the idea is to move signal around a very low voltage to keep noise down. They arent high power speakers really.. Bose is taking a different approach and your aftermarket stuff wont like it at all.. you will have to buy an interface.

See, i was afraid that this is going to be true. Maybe I can wire the speakers in series to increase the ohm by 2x and lose balance or fade.......
