Belts...what milage should they be changed?
I have my Max in for a oil change and rotation and the dealer just called saying that I have a couple of belts that need to be changed because there are some small cracks starting. I declined at this very moment due to the fact that at 125 apiece is more than I can drop right now....
Am I skating on real thin ice?
84K on the car right now

You're probably not on thin ice, but it is about time to change them. Better to change them now than having one break in the middle of nowhere.

Oh yeah, here's another thread on this subject...

Looks like they should be much cheaper than $125?

My bad...I just picked up the car and it was 125.00 to replace both drive belts. He said they were cracked and needed to replaced...will probably schedule for next week...damn I would have had him do it while it was there if I knew the 125 covered both

84K? Easy....For a year I was putting over 200 miles a day on my commute from Cape Cod to Peabody MA which is 20 miles north of Boston....I've since moved to NH and cut my commute in half but still do about 100 miles R/T. Ugh
Before I got married my commute was about 5-10 minutes...
It's really hampered the trade in value of the car which pretty much sucked anyways.
