I cannot get the ac/alternator belt on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

its obviously hard without being there. i had to use a longer belt than what unorthodox recommneded. that size is just a general guideline that will most likely fit the majority of cars but each can be different. trying using a half inch longer or inch longer if its that far off.

 

I went to get a belt .5" larger and put it on. It went on with a little work and after tightening the idle tensioner this new belt looks pretty tight. However when I start the car it squeals like crazy. After a minute the squeal goes away, but when I step on the gas it gets really really loud. The idle tensioner is as tight as it can get. What do I do now?

 

Your main belt is too large, get a slightly smaller one.
