In cabin microfilter replacement

Who has had the opportunity, or need, to replace the in cabin micro filter? I have 25k miles, suggests replacing at 15k; I ordered a new one and it should be in soon. Looks like a lot of work to get at the filter. It better be dirty when I get to it! Any practical suggestions from anyone who has gone to the trouble??

Thanks,

srm

I have not done mine yet, I have 26K miles on my car at the time being. Every time I turn on the A/C is does smell like @ss though. It sits somewere behind the glove box but I have not changed mine so I cant say 4 sure how easy it is to change.

Dude... it is VERY easy to change the filters. It will take you 10 min to get to the filters (if that) and 10 min to put the car back together... you only remove the glove box area and a few screws.

just have your pliers ready as you drop the glove box so you can dislodge the airbag connector tabs. (you dont really do anything with the connector, but the connector is attached to the top of the glovebox, I assume so it wont rattle against anything- not a big deal..)

Is that the only reason you read the post was to make that comment? Are you volunteering to function as my very own personal search engine from now on?

all 5th gens are set up for it, but not all of them came with the filters. part of the 'comfort and convenience' package or something.

my 2kSE without leather just has two big holes there where the dust and pollen can blow right in... you can buy the filters and snap 'em in, tho, even on a non-equipped 5th gen.

Therefore, one can install 2 filters or just one? Two filters seem redundant!

What do you mean? The replacements are two piece filters that are supposed to take up the same space as the original.

What I think is weird is if you go to nissan's website it says the MSRP for the filter is $29.95... but I have yet to find it for sale below $40. What do the dealers charge?

Woodfield Nissan in Schaumburg, IL charges like $61 for parts and labor total

yes. when the older post is still on the same page? yeah.. but really, its not a big deal. You realize, that people tend not to respond or be near responsive on repetitive posts.

Life will be better for all when search comes back.

NEGATIVE... life will be better for DONATING members when search comes back... which is because we should ALL have search.

I'm all about donating, don't get me wrong... all other Orgs have search for all.

How will getting search back not be better for everyone?

255hp_....

That 29.95 price is only for some vehicles (like pathfinder, etc.). I think there's something that says, "some vehicles higher."

DAVEB says 35 is dealer cost, he has them for 40. Give him a call.

as far as donating, you guys dont have a clue what youre missing in OT. its not so much that there is anything earth shattering in there, but you probably dont know some of the members you may think you do. pretty wild at times.. some of you would really get a kick out of it. others might think its more of the same tho, some things just dont change.
