sunroof woes

Has anyone had any problems with their power sunroofs? when I try to open it, it moves about 3 inches then stops. I then have to press the button again and it will move another 3 inches, so on and so forth until it is open. Same for when it closes. I think it is the switch, but I have not had time to pull it and test it. Just wondering if im alone

No movement issues, but I do get an annoying rattle/squeaking sound from the roof right next to the sunroof.

Have You recently disconnected the battery for any reason?
If so with the sunroof closed push the switch on the closed side and hold it for 5 seconds or until you hear or feel a click. that will reset the sunroof sequence, it should work after that.
If you have not done anything regarding the battery then it sounds like the switch is shorting out. Hope that helps.

Re: sunroof woes

I fixed it! It had to either be a problem with the switch or the relay. The switch checked out fine, so I pulled the relay and tested it for continuity. It was fine so I put it back in. After putting it back, the sunroof started to work fine again. My guess is that the circut breaker in the sunroof motor needed to be reset. Now Im cruzin in style again Thanks to anyone who posted suggestions! I have a spare runroof switch if anyone is in need of one

Thanks for all the replies, just bought my maxima and it fixed it straight away. Unhook the battery, hook it back up easy as that.
