Weird Noise From Engine Bay

I posted about a weird noise comingi from the engine bay a month ago or so. I finally got around to recording it.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MxeTU0MQ%3D%3D

Does anyone have any idea what that noise is? Should I get it checked? I need to know if i should bring my car in to Nissan or not since my warranty's almost up.

Sounds like some sort of motor, or slippage thereof. Take that beast in, and let the service guys hear it. They might know...

Mine does a sound something like (only when you turn the engine on but it doesn't go for a while like your) that but that one's... I don't know.

You should get it checked. I think that sound comes from the ABS or somewhere around the brake cylinder.

I don't know, I'm dumb

I would get it checked out just to be 100% sure that it's nothing.

When I start my car, it automaticall revs to just under 2k RPM. Is that normal? It is a 2K3 SE with ~250 miles on it.

Yeah - as I turn the key and the engine starts, it revs to just under 2k RPM and then idles normally. Is it supposed to rev like that? (it's an auto)

The initial sound when you turn the key (BEFORE the starter cranks and the engine engages) is the sound of the fuel pump.

I thought all engines rev up high for a microsecond before leveling off... ?

we have EFI, so the car does a lil rev after starting so ensure the car starts smoothly, if you've ever driven a Carb'd engine, you have to pump the gas manually rather than the fuel pump starting up when you turn the key "on", and then after you start it weather cold or hot, in a Carb'd car you have to give it some rev's to get started, but with newer EFI vechicles you dont have to do that, its Electronic.

Key "on" -> you hear lil cheeeeeet... click sound, so the ABS etc. is tested, and i guess fuel pump? then you start the car ---> then you hear the scraaaap sound of the timing chain tightening.
