I paid $52 and tipped $8, so $60. Only to find out that RVM had the wrong timing ring on my pulley so that the pulley has to be taken off and re-installed with a new timing ring, thus making the initial $60 absolutely wasted.

I'm just doing it myself this time.

Yes, but the install fees are still the same, RVM or UR.

Plus I'm trying to meet my bad-mouthing RVM quota.

I'm also looking at adding the Unorthodox UDP. I viewed the how-to install on it and it appears to be a pain in the arrss..At $50-60 for the install, that seems like a decent deal to me. Any horror stories on self-install??

It really wasn't that difficult. Just follow the directions here:

http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Gar...e%20Pulley.htm

Piece of cake..

On a 4th gen it gained 8 hp and 5 lb ft tq.

If you want to see it. Search through the group deals forum for the RVM pulley deal. Its a locked thread now.

My buddy who works at the Nissan Dealership told me that the UDP arent too good for the 3.5. Just wondering if anyone had problems who has done the installation? I've been interested in buying the pulleys for my auto 2k2. would love some more power

I've had mine in for 8 months and haven't had any problems. No lights dimming, air is still cold as hell, stereo is still bumping along.

I paid 1.5-2hrs of labor.

No offense, but I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. RVM UDP's are cheap for a reason. I'd get the Unorthodox Racing.

Thanks for the advice.

I ordered my pulley before all of the issues became apparent. I just installed it last weekend and now I'm having problems.

Did you even click on that link that I posted and try to address my problem or did you just want to tell me that I should have spent more money?

I have had my UR on for about a year now. The only issue is that my lights dim a bit at idle. My installation was free.

And you do not need to buy two belts. The 4 rib power steering belt does not need to be changed. Only change the 6 rib Alternator/AC belt.

My dyno results 0hp

I did click on the link and read all of it before making a comment. I've read other posts with people having problems with the RVM's. Unfortunately, I don't have enough mechanical experience to voice an opinion on the resolution of your problem. I just didn't want others to have the problems you did. I hope everything works out.

My install was free, and I even did a write-up on it. Click on my homepage and scoll to the bottom for the link.

I intalled my RVM UDP and have no problems. I think it's how it was installed that people have problems, not the product.

Install was free for me too. Instead of paying for install you might just want to get the tools you'll need to do it your self: Rhino ramps, breaker bar, 19mm deep socket, long handle torque wrench, (and the usual metric socket wrench set ect). This way you can remove it if need be, put it back on, ect. It's not a hard job at all with the right tools.

Nut for automagic poeple.... They need two people at least ( ) Or they can have someone do it for them because the flywheel needs to be locked up.

Lucky standard poeple!!!

Well, my problem was the RVM UDP. I took it off and put my stock one back on the car ran fine. RVM's quality control is terrible.

Sorry man. I was really frustrated at the time.

Time for me to get a Definitive or UR UDP.
