Dealer emblems
What's the best way to get rid of the tacky plastic dealer emblem stuck on the back of my 03 Max. It looks like some kind of two sided tape holding it on. I would like to remove it but do not want to mess up the paint. I'm sure most of you guys have taken them off.

You can try using a hair dryer to heat up the glue that's holding the emblem, and then gently peel it off. Wash and wax that area after you're done.
Just be careful not to overheat the paint as well. Use as little heat as necessary.

There's no dealer emblem on my car that I bought here in WA. That's a good thing to keep in mind that next time I car shop (I didn't even think to ask about this before buying my car).
I used to live and Cali and none of ours had that crap applied either.

Dealers here in Chitown don't really use that tacky plastic tab anymore... at least, Woodfield Nissan uses a license plate frame on front and back (easy to remove). Used car dealers still use the tacky plastic.
Just spray lots of WD40 on it an slowly work it off with fishing line or something similar... just DON'T use a screwdriver.
Use WD40 to break up any remaining sticky glue and remove with a fingernail and towel.

Dealer Emblem
I specified that I do NOT want that on and I would NOT take delivery with it. Mine was a real small (John Elway Nissan) thing that just peeled off, so it was no big deal. Yeah...never had an issue in CA, but since moving to CO...all the dealers out here seem to put them on. In fact some of them use the screw in dealer "thingy".....I would NEVER buy from a dealer that did that.

Thanks for the input. I removed it by just pulling it off and scraping the leftover tape off with a good old fashioned thumbnail. The glue residue was easily removed with auto glass cleaner (no ammonia) and it looks like it was never there. Easier than I had expected. If the dealer wanted to pay me for advertising space I might have left it on.
