Those of you who have done the tail light swap...

Main question:
What did you use to seal the fixture to the car?

I am supposed to get my new fixtures today so I called my local Nissan dealer and they are out of the (OEM) black adhesive. I'd like to hear from other people who have done this to see what they used successfully and where they got it (Napa, Auto Zone, Advance, Pep Boys, etc.).

On a side-note:
Out of curiosity, did you clean all the old adhesive off? If so, what did you use? I cleaned it off my car yesterday using gasoline. It worked very well, but I am curious to know of other options (because I know when the fixtures arrive, I'll have to do some clean-up on them).

HUGE thanks in advance.

Are you getting the lights new or used. In either case it should come with the black adhesive. It should be enough. u dont need to remove the old one and add more. It neve reaks if there is enough black stuff on.

I'm getting them used and it's too late, I already cleaned all the adhesive off.

A) I left the old adhesive on - it was just too damn much trouble to take off. I did add some new adhesive as well in the places where it had been torn off.

B) I have one package of the adhesive left if you want it. I bought 2 of them from the dealer at $15 freakin dollars each. One package is plenty to do both lights. PM or e-mail if interested.

MoCoMax & 255HP_03_SE,

Thx for your offers, but it's too late. I went to the auto parts store & bought some 3M adhesive (dum dum the guy called it, hheheh).

But they're in and looking too good. I love it. hombre, if you read this, thx for the swap.

This forum and all the members kick a$$.

Peace.
