Optima Battery and Power Wire...

i posted this in the audio/electronics section, but i'm gonna post here as well. i can't get the power wire to connect to the post on my dual post yellow top optima. i cut off some of the plastic housing, but it still wont' reach. what did you guys do? i was thinking of bending that whole plastic unit (obviously cutting most of it off) but then i'm worried i'll damage that fuse that's in there. anywayz, i'm sure many of you have installed optimas and have faced this problem so let me know what you did. thanx guys.

I took a piece of metal about 2 1/2" long, 1 1/2" wide and drilled two holes in it, one on each end. The holes are big enough to slip over the post. Attach one end to your cables with a screw and tape it up real good. Attach the other end to your post and tighten it up. Ghetto, but it works.

The pics really won't show much. But it is better than forcing the cables over there.

I made a bracket out of 1/8" thick by 3/4" wide aluminum bar and cut it to length at about 3". I drilled a hole at each end and viola! I need to clean it up a bit but it works for the time being. I had this bar from another project, when I made a dual capacitor set-up.
