If you don't know for sure, or have not seen for yourself, then keep your mouth shut.

For the record (take notes!): VQ35 Injen does NOT SIT BEHIND THE RADIATOR. It sits beside. So, unless you have one and have looked at it, cork it!

How about this..... you get BOTH. Use Injen during the end of spring and summer, and use Frakencar during the end of Fall and winter...

I am also trying to get a stillen rear sway bar.. know any place?? PAYCE
i purchased a stillen intake with frankencar mid-pipe and after the ecu got used to it, it was nothing but great sound and difference (from the butt dyno anyway). i was curious and decided to get an injen as well jus' to see. after installing it and lettin' the ecu get used to it, there was a difference in performance (from low end, middle, and top). i was going to take it to a dyno jus' to see for sure exactly where, but i figured that if i could notice it jus' from the butt dyno, why waste the money. the sound of the injen is no where near as loud as the frankencar mid-pipe/stillen set-up either. people are right in saying that "if you want a real CAI intake, get a place racing." jus' hope you wanna drill a 3.5" hole in your fender well. also, the vq35 sucks in so much air anyway....the longer pipe of the injen will jus' hurt it's performance on the top end. this is jus' from what i've seen and heard. and i don't know about anybody else with the injen, but the pipe seems to get rather hot, a lil' too hot for jus' an intake pipe. i don't know if this is due to the position of the pipe or it's location. but the injen does look purty though...if that's important. hope that helps!

n1cK!

cai or stillen hi-flow?

I live in San Francisco and the weather out here is mostly cold. Yes, there are hot days, but its almost always windy, so i guess CAI is the way to go, but its illegal here in Cali. How big is the difference between a CAI and Stillen Hi-Flow Intake? Can you really feel the performance difference with a stillen hi-flow?

Is the performance of the Place Racing CAI worth the hole in the fender? If you can get the Injen or PR for around the same price, which would you go?

Doesn't anyone like the Weapon R intakes? I've had one on my 95 for 3 years and have always loved the power increase and growl under acceleration.http://www.weapon-r.com/dintake.html

i've had both the frankencar and the injen and the one thing that i noticed was that:

the injen piping gets super hot after a long drive from home back to school. So hot that I cannot put my hand on the piping.

the frankencar in the same temperature weather and the same drive from home back to school is different. That mid pipe is very warm, but I can still comfortably place my hand on it without getting burned.

actually, the injen is no longer "illegal" in california. they have just recently been approved for carb e.o #. look at injen's site for more details on how to get a copy.

honestly, save your money. I don't think it makes a huge difference. Also, your friend with the Frankencar might other reasons for running like yours (like something isn't right). I don't beleive the cold air makes a difference (If it is, or whatever). It's mostly a gimmick to get ricers to waste money. If you go oooh look its shiny everytime you open the hood, and that alone makes you happy, then there's a reason to get it (I hope you really get a kick out of it, it's real expensive).

BTW, i have one, so don't get all offended. This is just my opinion.

Ive had both, the injen is much better on the street. Mostly because it gets cool air from under the car while its moving. My frankencar killed lowend and was a slug in traffic.
