Drilled rotor behavior question

I just installed the Stillen drilled rotors all around. I used Axxis Metal Master pads on the front and Raybestos pads on the rear. I followed the break in procedure as defined by Stillen.

I now have a few 100 miles on them and I noticed that during braking I get a kind of rumbling noice and feeling through the brake pedal. It is not the kind of rumbling you get with warped rotors. I've never driven a car with drilled rotors and I was wondering if this is normal. Any answers?

Thanks in advance.

I have them on my 2K1 all around, metal master pads on the front and stock pads on the rear and I have not noticed anything but smooth braking from any speed. I have had them on for about 20,000 miles.

Mine are noisy with highspeed stops. Close to what you are describing.

I've been accused of having a heavy foot but I don't consider myself doing highspeed stops. The rotors look fine to the naked eye so I'm going to assume they are okay.

I've got x-drilled and slotted rotors, mine also makes a lite rumbling sound when coming to a stop. Did you install these yourself? I also hear a light clicking sound coming from the rear of both wheels. I installed my rotors myself and on the rear I didn't remove the emergency brake cable from rotor when installing. Would that have something to do with the clicking? If no one knows what this problem is do you think I could bring it back to the dealership for them to cover it under warranty? I wouldn't think they would cover it.

I had a groaining noise that was obnoxious. Took it to the dealer and they turned the rotors and suggested putting a set of softer pads on. The axxis pads were really chewed up. So I went back to Nissan's pads since I was there and everything has been fine for the last 10,000 miles.
