Let's play the diagnose my car game ^_^

Ok, I have a 2000 with about 90,000 miles on it. I've always had my scheduled services done, and had oil changes every 3000 miles excep 2 goof ups where I went to 4000. Approxmiately 2 months ago I was doing some city driving an when I stopped at a red light my car idled rough for a second, then lost rpm, then died completely. The following morning it did the same thing again, then again, and again, ... and then it did it again while i was making a right hand turn. Took it to the Nissan service shop here and they said I had a bad MAF sensor, they replaced it, the problem went away. Fast forward to a week ago, I started having the problem again. But before I went to take it into the shop again I got my oil changed, after I got my oil changed the problem went away and hasn't come back ... but obviously the oil change was only a temporary fix. I don't want to take it into the service dept. again, have them do some 400 dollar repair, and still get the same problem again ... I'm befuddled

I'm no mechanic, but it could be the fuel pump. I've had a similar problem with another of my cars and a new fuel pump fixed it right up. Hope this helps, cuz I have a 2000 GLE and I'd hate to see one go up.

Could be your Throttle body, maybe you need to clean it out

Fuel filter is another possibility. Is SES light ever on? You should ask someone to see if its throwing a code.

that sounds simmalar to the problem that i had except that it threw a code and the SES light came on. end result was a camshaft balancing sensor. btw i have a 00 with 99000 miles.

Has the problem only happened when it is hot outside?
