The least that Nissan should do is atleast come out with replacement halogen headlight that fit exactly for 2k2/2k3... I am sure the sales @ssholes at Nissan don't want to do this because they can make $hit load of money by forcing customers to purchase HID headlights...

they have a thing for theft protection, its like 50 bucks or somethgin from courtesy nissan, dont know how good it is, but thats about all there is...or get a decent alarm with some sensors as close to the lights as you can get

while not near as bad as maximas, it really doesnt matter anymore. On the G35C, you need ALOT of time and some tools to get the headlights out.. they will not be able to steal them, however, that wont stop them from prying on the fenders, hood and bumper for awhile. You'd headlights are f'd up too. So while they dont get your lights, they still do over $6000 in damage just for the hell of it. There is no way to prevent this with any HID car.
Get some 2k1 lights.. its the only way.

Sucks to be in your shoes, but you're not alone. My mom (who lives on the 13th green of a local golf course) had her big screen TV, satellite goodies, dvd stuff, all her jewelry, etc etc stolen in 15 minutes - AND THIS WAS ON THE GOLF COURSE.
Trust me, 10 minutes is a lot longer time than you think.
I couldnt even get my powerwheels to the end of the driveway in 10 minutes and now 8 year olds are jacking police cars.
If I could steal them back for you I would... I heard about the Courtesy Nissan anti-theft for the headlights, you may want to check that out
Good luck getting a replacement and cleaning up your car

I had mine stolen in broad daylight too. It sucks.
Nissan dealers won't install 2k1 headlights, the say it voids the light warranty.
As far as the bumper gap goes, anygood body shop will do some work in your bumper so that it fits erfectly with the 2k1 headlights.
I personally have 2k1 AE headlights and taillights(i like the way they look) on my 2k2. I could've had the bodyshop fix my bumper, but i preferred to keep the gap since I will be returning the car when the lease is up with the hids I have sitting at home.
They will take them anywhere. They go by towns, they will hit one town, take all the hids and go around other towns, which gives stolen hid owners time to replace them, and then they come back.

Has anyone escalated this issue with Nissan corp? I'm talking about callin the 800 number and going up as high as possible on the corporate ladder over there. So they don't rectify the situation by offering any real prevention, yet the dealerships claim that installing 00-01 lights voids the warranty--wtf is that??? Some of you who've been hit by theft should really get on their a$$ and make a scene over there. I know if it would happen to me, I'd be calling them every day until they do something.

Sorry to hear about that. Makes me sooo mad that these bums go and take our lights. If I ever catch someone trying to take mine....LOOK OUT!!! Makes you wonder how this all got started. How they figured out that its pretty easy to jack them?

HID theft
I live in Englewood Cliffs, and they jacked my lights right out the driveway. Best thing for you to do is check out courtesynissan.com. They sell HID locks which prevents theives from popping the latch. It's approximately $60, a small investment but well worth it.

jeez. I'm glad I live out in corn country.
I'll know better than to leave it in long-term parking at the Detroit airport, though.
And I think I will look into the Courtesy lock system, although, as you point out, they'll trash the car anyway trying to get them out.
What doe the HIDs cost to replace?

Why doesn't anyone invest in some surveillance? Especially people who have been hit multiple times. They come pretty cheap these days. The satisfaction of getting catching someone on the act
I just installed the alarm that comes with the LED display. So if someone messes with the car, I get beeped. Ever since I had a tire stolen from the car in my driveway, I hope for the day I catch someone touching my car...............
