The 'Baby Seat' Modification.

The current modification to my '03 SE is a baby seat. Has anyone tried to get one of these contraptions into a max?

Thanks in advance,

JB

Yup, got one behind the passenger seat. I like to put my chair back so I keep it behind the passenger. I recommend putting a towel underneath the baby seat, specially on leather, so that it doesn't leave any marks.

Got one and another one will have to be added this November. Your best bet is to take it to your local fire dept. The will have to cut foam to make it level. While the front facing car seats fit fine, the rear facing ones are a bit*h.

Thanks, and congrats!
Did you use the LATCH system? seems to leave the seatback loose. Also, should it hinder the pass front seat?

PS. how many HP does this mod add?

NO!!! Not a towel... get a seat protector from a baby store, the kind that's waterproof. Once the kid starts to grow and you give him food and drink (and no matter what you say now, you WILL feed your child in the car unless you can stand that high-pitched screeching noise they make when hungry/thirsty) it'll save the leather from stains.

I have a hideous blue one that's sorta cloth on one side and plastic on the other and it's saved 2 serious stains so far.

I use a towel underneath the one in my backseat, but I have black leather so not worried about stains. I placed it in the middle of the back seat, so either front seat can be leaned back as much as needed for comfort. Little one is about to graduate to the forward facing carseat. I am alittle worried about how much abuse the back of the front seats will get because we all know they love to kick.

As far as how much hp this mod adds, the louder the screaming = the more torque & hp is added to get to destination faster.

black leather most certainly stains.

spend $10 on a real seat protector... money well spent. Also buy one of those 'back of the front seat' things with the pockets for toys/cup/crap. It also keeps muddy feet off the leather .

NAh...I use a towel too and I DONT give any food and drink to my 3 year old. He knows better...although he does like to ride in the Jeep better Think I'll give him up for adoption...

I didn't use LATCH...but I did use the safety strap to those anchors on the rear deck. I sat on it and tightened that thing down! It doesn't move a centimeter one way...

arff

good luck

I tried the latch system in my 02 Max and decided I liked the regular seatbelt method; it's easier and tighter. I only use the Maxima for occasional trips with the kids (we have a minivan for shuttling them around) and removal is a pain if you use the latch system.

Yes sir I agree. Even with MY 2 15's in the trunk your not the only Bro!!!! and you would really want to put a towel or even 2 to stop from messing up the seats.!!!
