Removing Rear Deck Cover

How do you remove the rear deck cover (carpeted piece)??

I noticed from looking at the bottom that there seem to be 3 large nuts (square not hexagon though) which seem to be holding 3 bolts in place.. You can't see the top of the bolts, so I'm guessing they are part of the rear deck cover..

Any ideas?? It seems straight-forward but without trying it yet, I don't know. I'm gonna do it this weekend and would like to be prepared and get it done very quickly -- bada-bing.

Pull rear bottom seat out undo 2 bolts on left and right arm rest. Pull armrest out and you'll see all the clips. Pull all clips out then take out pillars after that deck is held on by about 5 or 6 snaps. Deck will not come completly off due to seatbelts running through holes. Just a brief explanantion any other ?'s ask if not sure.

Is this the entire rear deck or just the cover (carpeted piece). I only want to remove the carpeted piece to get the BOSE AMP out. I want to BOSE AMP BRACKETS and they are upside down so you need to take this out to get to them.

The carpeted piece comes out after the plastic cover behind the rear seats, and the plastic trim to the left/right sides comes off, as well as the seat anchors and Bose amp cover... I believe the carpeted piece also has plastic snap-connectors holding it to the metal.

I saw the snap connectors holding it in. They're larger white ones. But are the three bolts I saw from the bottom also holding it in??

No. I believe those bolts are for the child seat brackets. You don't have to remove these to remove the carpeted piece.

They're not, I checked. The child-seat brackets have their own bolts and it appears you don't need to remove them to get the carpeted deck piece off. In fact, you don't even need to remove the child-seat bracket covers (plastic snap things) since they are only stuck onto the carpeted piece, although it wouldn't hurt. The covers go directly over the child-seat brackets, so I know you can pull the carpeted piece out w/out removing those...

Anyone have a helms manual??
I really need to figure this out..

Found in Howto section I followed the above link to fix my deck rattle, though I did not do the full foam treatment...

I just did mine and what a PITA those two side clips are. The rattle is completely gone now. I hate doing things for the first time since you have no idea exactly how hard to pull or where that certain clip or bolt is.
