i called a few times and spoke with someone's name that i cannot begin to spell. they seemed very helpful and at the time that the progress was moving forward but oh well. i have given thought to the 5 spd swap then looking at going with their programming but i have a feeling now that i will sell before i do that. i have done some searching for the unichip which supposedly will allow you to adjust rev limiter and dyno tune in the same deal. their site has some good info and they state that the maxima product is in the works so who knows.

TS only has 5-6 people working there at all times. They are easily bombarded with emails and calls during the day plus all the other projects they have (they are not only ECU tuners)

My emails are seldom answered, however they are very polite and helpful on the phone or in person. Maybe ICE and I might need to work things out with them... who knows. I haven't heard from either of them in awhile

If you and ICE can mend the rift with TS, many of us would be grateful. I'm desperate to extend my rev limit, at the least...

Hey Larry... Lemme know if you wanna take a ride down there on a saturday or something... i'd like to see what new project cars they're working on now...

As for them not replying to emails or anything... I actually emailed TS about 6 months ago, when I had them do my ECU... I emailed them on the weekend and asked them to give me a call back... Tadashi actually did call me back, but I think he said I got lucky cuz they don't usually have the time to go through all their emails...

I did call them a few days before I had to drop off my car at SFR, for the turbo kit... I wanted Tadashi to put my timing back to stock... I didn't get through to Tadashi, but I did end up talking to that stupid white guy, brian. He told me that they had to get some cars ready for the JGTC (at Irwindale, in December) and that they didn't have time to do it...

So what I did was go down there and crash in on them... I told Tadashi that I needed to get the timing set back to stock cuz I was driving to S.Diego right after that..

Well, I did have to wait for about an hour - I think I busted them on their lunch break - but Tadashi ended up doing it... he even cut me a deal on the price...

So anyways, like Larry says, they have a pretty small shop and there's only Tadashi doing the ECU tuning... I think that idiot Brian is supposed to be learning how to do it, but I sure wouldn't want him to do it without Tadashi there...

So can I just call up and ask for a L-spec ECU for my 01 5spd ? or its not possible ? I'm thinking of throwing cams and the ECU in before the turbo install. I need to get rid of the speed limiter and up the rev limiter to 7200RPM, as the cams and DE-K intake manifold should really scream at the top end

brian is some feminine asian dude with a alcon sponsored red 350z. TS is not open on saturdays. And yes, the easiest thing to do would be to call and ask if a ECU upgrade is possible

wow...it sounds like none of this went anywhere...lol

except for you larry, who got the prototype which works from what I understand, but I spoke to Brian and he said they can't help me and they do not plan to market what they did to your ecu (he summed it up by saying it was a one-time deal), I then asked him once upon a time how much it would cost to have it done for 5th gen's and he said we couldn't pay them to do it...

let's sum this thing up and finish it off by saying the entire place went to crap after Danny left and Brian took over the english speaking business over there...

I already talked to Cheston about it...him and Brian are good friends...so he tends to back up Brian...I am friends with Cheston as well, but since he is so busy with work and his 350z as well as his gf and other things, it is not a priority I would imagine...

it's not a matter of figuring anything out or breaking encryption....so don't let anyone give that excuse--it simply means they are lazy or don't see the point in pursuing this...

can't remember every page on this thread...did Scott or anyone else over at JWT ever get contacted on this or did they ever try this as well?

its odd how TS won't do it. I mean they have the harness built, they have the software to decipher it.

Figurein the code shouldn't be hard at all. Buddy of mine cracked a code on the Q45 ECUs and he sells ECUs for 150 dollars with any kinda setting you would like. ECUs are much stronger AND safer than JWTs. If there was lots of interest involved in a Maxima ECU I could bug him bout crackn the code. But seeing how 01s where "availible" from TS and no one but Larrio got it, I would be stupid to ask my buddy to crack a code for nothing. They've sold lots of Q45 ECUs, no one ever complained but prasied the product.

I don't think premapped ECUs will give the best performance though. There's too many variables like different modifications, different grades of gas available, elevation, and finally, personal preferences.

Its mostly for the advanced timing and the increased rev limiter.

The physical harness would probably be harder to make then anything else (assuming you had the right software and experience)

I bet if you offered it for a competitive price (sub $600) on a group deal you would sell them. I, like many people on here, am just not willing to throw down such a significant amount of money for a mod that isn't even really proven.

Im pretty sure if you friend sold the maxima ecu for $150 like the q45, then a lot of people would buy them.

There won't be a 150 dollar ECU for a Maxima. ECU is hard to crack the code on, and you have to deal with imobilizer issues etc. Older ECUs on all pre 96 cars can be cracked with no problem. If you want a ECU, you will have to just make your own- by tuning the stock one with a piggy back, like Emanage Ultimate.
