im wanting to install a nitrous kit to only run 35 shots, but the thing is, if the ECU comes out the nitrous won't come into use anymore. So my question is an estimate of when will the ECU come out? Should i wait for it or go ahead and get the nitrous?
thanks!
thanks!

Bl_asd - Check the emissions label sticker under your hood or look for 3 or 4 O2-sensor plugs on the front of your engine.
purekoryo - That's a hard one. I don't want to give out estimates, since honestly it's a crap shoot. If you have a 2K1 5spd, it should NOT be much longer then a couple months, I hope. I can't really guess on when the rest will come out. If I were you and it's either one or the other, I'd get the nitrous.

JET chip does nothing, other than give ya a sticker for your car sayn- look I'm a moron who paid 300 bux to CustomMaxima.com for something that does nothing- thats JET. Its weird how quick it took to crack a 350Z ECU, yet we Maxima drivers are left in the dark. Kinda like JWT did with some other Nissans... where they kept on promissin a ECU for them - 98 and up, and where are they ? I am in, if I see dyno proven gains on a few cars, untill then I'm happy with my stock ECU w/speed limiter, a S-AFCII to lean the sucker out and Wideband 02 sensor to make sure I don't melt my engine.

The 2001 A33 ECU was just as easy. We're just not high enough on TechnoSquares' priority list.
Tadashi is in Japan cracking the 2004.5 350Z ECU, but they've had delays. Once he gets back and "free time", we'll get our final dyno tune and 2K1 5spds will at least have a TS ECU. Next, will be 2K1 autos, however at this rate, GOD himself only knows when.
THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO, so you'll just have to wait. Honestly, if you're going FI, *** waiting. You don't need the extended limiter, just get the eManage.

Or kidnap his azz once he gets back?
I swear, we need to find out what beer this guy likes and send him a truck load or something.
Once I hear he's back, I'm sending you over there.

there's one thing I was wondering about: it TS THE ONLY company that can do this kind of stuff? Not sure, maybe I missed something on these 8 pages/219 posts where it says they got some super hookup with Nissan and they're the only ones to do it (though if it was true, they'd come out with it quickly). Anyway, if they don't have any hookups, are there any alternatives to this company?
Please note, I'm not doubting them, just want the products come out before I sell this car.

TS is the only company that bothered. The reason the 5.5gens have it cause the ECU program was similar to the cracked 350z/g35 one. The Z comes out for less than a year and it has a ECU crack, whereas the maximas from 97-03 until 2003
nissan isn't going to make anything like this, too much of a liability.

you could try, i doubt that would happen. Out of 40 ppl that say they are gonna buy, probably only 20 would do it. Compared to hundreds of Z/G35 owners that would/have buy/bought it already. 20x$600=$12000 does not equate all the time/tuning/and man work needed to produce a ECU so a few maxima ppl can end up using it
only two companies have made stuff for maxima 95-96, jwt and TS. Your not going to see anymore. 5.5gen benefits from hand me downs that the Z/G35 guys experience

Lets think about this....
All TS needs to do for the 2001 5sp ONLY ECU is a few dyno pulls, tweak tables, and download to complete this ECU, however they don't and still deny they'll ever release it.
We had the advantage that the VQ35 ECUs were somewhat similar, so some code/tools/methods could be reused, yet they don't have it for sale and may never.
Now, you think ANYONE is going to R&D one of these from scratch, when TS won't even finish what they've already started?
Honestly, an afternoon of Tadashis' time with Larrys' car on the dyno is all that stands between 2001 5spds and then maybe a day or two with Daniels' 2001 auto, if he even cares to be the guinea pig anymore after all his trouble/time/money.

it just seems to me like TS for some reason is/was our only option. Maybe it was, but we never tried anybody else to produce them. Anyway, I don't think that matters anyway. At this point, if TS decides to stop it, it will be very wrong, since there was some much money, time, and effort wasted from both parties. I really hope they have some time to do it. I am also available for some testing. 2000 5 speed cali, at this moment with only intake and a catback. Planning on going FI some time soon, but would still like to help out as much as I can. Btw, if there's a need to try out if 2001 ECU works on 2000, lemme know
#229
THAT needs to be tested, ie 2K1 5spd Cali ECU in a 2K 5spd Cali.
All it would require is a quick trip to TS for Danny to swap immobilizer chip code and see if she starts without any codes/issues.
I'm hoping this is possible or 2000s aren't going to have a hope/prayer.

ECU is different on the 01 and 00, for one I know alot of sensors have been upgraded on the 01 to the 3.5Ls. 01 uses VSS signal from the ABS computer, and then the ECU sends the signal to the cluster, where on a 00 the signal goes to the ECU and then to the cluster. I need to check the pin outs for 00 and 01s to be sure. Part #s are different.

Man, why did Nissan have to make it so hard on us 99 maxima owners. I just wanna have an ecu that can give me more rpm, a little better fuel mix, and a little better timin. Well keep askin about the 99 ecu's. My 99 m/t fed needs an ECU.
Hey larrio, have you had any trouble with those 17x9s rubbin on bumps or just drivin down the road, i wanna get me some SSR 7 spoke gold 17x9s.

my 17x9's don't rub. Be sure you got the right offset and tire width
lex- its more than talk. I've been running this beta program for a few months already.... might be even more than that now.

Well then....looks like ONLY 2001s have a chance at all then. '99s didn't have a chance in hell with the 5-gazzillion ECU versions.
BTW, I just heard Danny no longer works for TS, so we're probably ALL SOL especially Larry, Daniel, and myself who have invested much time and money into making this happen.

SOB that is sucky a$$ news about Danny, Alex. Though it always seemed to me that he was a bit of a flake about things, like calling me back after they fried my ECU etc etc...
You moving ahead talking with Tadadhi? or are you giving up at this point? (I for one wouldn't blame you after everything you have dealt with) Hopefully this will actually turn out to be a good thing, maybe the really delays were Danny himself. But who knows.
ah well keep us posted.

Too bad they just couldn't use the 00 or 01 ecu programming code, and dumb it down for the 99's get rid of the stuff it doesn't use. But I guess it would just take too long. Maybe i will try swappin some ECUs if i find some cheap ones. See what codes pop up, see if it runs good, etc. And if they don't work i can always sell em to someone else that needs em. Out of business... Good job Nissan.

I don't think there is going to be a 2000 TS ecu. The physical interface of the ECUs are more compliant with 98-99 ecus.
The 2001 5spd program is done. You can call Technosquare after this week, they are off to SEMA for the week
